The University of Alabama (UA) is a public research university located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA, and the flagship of the University of Alabama System. Founded in 1831, UA is one of the oldest and the largest of the universities in Alabama. UA offers programs of study in 13 academic divisions leading to bachelor’s, master’s, Education Specialist, and doctoral degrees. The only publicly supported law school in the state is at UA. Other academic programs unavailable elsewhere in Alabama include doctoral programs in anthropology, library and information studies, metallurgical engineering, music, Romance languages, and social work. The university is ranked first among public institutions and fourth out of all universities in the 2012â2013 enrollment of National Merit Scholars with 241 enrolled in the fall 2012 freshman class.

Eric Shaun Lynch (March 11, 1975 – September 20, 2014), better known as Eric the Midget, and preferably Eric the Actor, was a member of The Howard Stern Show’s Wack Pack. Lynch was 3 ft 0 in (0.91 m) tall, weighed 85 lb (39 kg), and used a motorized wheelchair, in addition to various other afflictions. Despite his poor health he claimed to have outlived every doctor’s prediction for his life expectancy.
James Robert Douglas “Rob” Bironas (January 29, 1978 â September 20, 2014) was an American football placekicker. He was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2002. He played college football for Auburn University and Georgia Southern University. Bironas was an All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection in 2007. He has been a member of the Charleston Swamp Foxes, Carolina Cobras, New York Dragons and Tennessee Titans. He was killed in an auto crash September 20, 2014.
