West Germany vs France was a FIFA World Cup semi-final match that took place in the Estadio RamÃ³n SÃ¡nchez PizjuÃ¡n in Seville, Spain on 8 July 1982. The match was won by West Germany, who advanced to face Italy in the final, on penalty kicks (5-4). Thanks to its intense, back-and-forth drama, four quality goals in extra time, and an equally dramatic penalty shootout, this game is regarded not only as the best of the 1982 tournament, but one of the best World Cup games of all time. It is considered by French captain Michel Platini to be his “most beautiful game.” West Germany’s victory was the first time in World Cup finals history that a shootout determined the outcome.

Univision Deportes Network is a Spanish language American sports channel dedicated almost entirely to soccer events and soccer-related programming. Owned by Univision Communications, it serves the Hispanic and Latino community in the United States. Among others, the channel features soccer games from the Mexican Primera DivisiÃ³n and Ligue 1. Univision Deportes Network began broadcasting on April 7, 2012 and on DirecTV on March 17, 2013, along with Univision tlNovelas and FOROtv. As of October 29, 2013, Univision Deportes Network’s programming reaches 35 million households.

The knockout stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup is the second and final stage of the competition, following the group stage. It began on 28 June starting with the round of 16 matches and will end on 13 July with the final match of the tournament, to be held at EstÃ¡dio do MaracanÃ£, Rio de Janeiro. The top two teams from each group (16 in total) will advance to the knockout stage to compete in a single-elimination tournament. A third-place match is included and played between the two losing teams of the semi-finals.

The FIFA World Cup, often simply called the World Cup, is an international association football competition contested by the senior men’s national teams of the members of FÃ©dÃ©ration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the sport’s global governing body. The championship has been awarded every four years since the inaugural tournament in 1930, except in 1942 and 1946 when it was not held because of the Second World War. The current champion is Spain, who won the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

Gregg “Opie” Hughes (born May 23, 1963) and Anthony Cumia (born April 26, 1961) were the hosts of The Opie & Anthony Show, a talk radio program airing in the United States and Canada on XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio. Co-hosted by stand-up comedian Jim Norton. Based in New York City, the show began in 1995 on WAAF-FM in Boston, Massachusetts, and later moved to WNEW-FM in New York with syndication on other stations, until being canceled in 2002. After exhausting their contract with their previous employers, which kept them from broadcasting on WNEW while also preventing them from appearing on radio elsewhere, they moved to XM Satellite Radio in 2004.

Lou Gehrig

Henry Louis “Lou” or “Buster” Gehrig (June 19, 1903 â June 2, 1941) was an American baseball first baseman who played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees (1923â1939). Gehrig was renowned for his prowess as a hitter and for his durability, a trait which earned him his nickname “The Iron Horse”. He finished with a career batting average of .340, an on-base percentage of .447, and a slugging percentage of .632, and he tallied 493 home runs and 1,995 runs batted in (RBIs). A seven-time All-Star and six-time World Series champion, Gehrig won the Triple Crown in 1934 and was twice named the American League’s (AL) Most Valuable Player. Gehrig was the first MLB player to have his uniform number retired, and he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939.
