Falling Skies

Falling snowFalling Skies is an American science fiction dramatic television series created by Robert Rodat and produced by Steven Spielberg. Set six months into a world devastated by an alien invasion, the series stars Noah Wyle as Tom Mason, a former Boston University history professor who becomes the second-in-command of the 2nd Massachusetts Militia Regiment, a group of civilians and fighters fleeing post-apocalyptic Boston.

Tony Awards

Tony Awards signThe Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Theatre, more commonly known informally as the Tony Award, recognizes achievement in live Broadway theatre. The awards are presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League at an annual ceremony in New York City. The awards are given for Broadway productions and performances, and an award is given for regional theatre. Several discretionary non-competitive awards are also given, including a Special Tony Award, the Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre, and the Isabelle Stevenson Award. The awards are named after Antoinette Perry, co-founder of the American Theatre Wing.

Kiwi crossing sign in rural New ZealandAnimal Crossing: New Leaf (とびだせ どうぶつの森, Tobidase Dōbutsu no Mori?, “Animal Forest: Jump Out”) is a video game for the Nintendo 3DS console that was released on November 8, 2012 in Japan and was released in North America on June 9, 2013. It will be released in Europe on June 14, 2013, and in Australia on June 15, 2013. It is the latest game in the Animal Crossing series, where the player character lives in a rural village populated with anthropomorphic animals. First announced at E3 2010, it has been confirmed that the player will be the mayor of the animal village.

Nelson Mandela

Belmont Stakes

Shackleford Enters the Gate for The Belmont StakesThe Belmont Stakes is an American grade I stakes Thoroughbred horse race held every June at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. It is a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) horse race, open to three-year-old Thoroughbreds. Colts and geldings carry a weight of 126 pounds (57 kg); fillies carry 121 pounds (55 kg). The race is the third and final leg of the US Triple Crown, following exactly five weeks after the Kentucky Derby, and three weeks after the Preakness Stakes. Consequently, it is run on Saturday, but never before June 5, nor after June 11. It is nicknamed “The Test of the Champion”.
