Linda Perry

Linda PerryLinda Perry (born April 15, 1965) is an American rock musician, songwriter, and record producer. Once known as the lead singer and primary songwriter of 4 Non Blondes, Perry has founded two record labels, composing and producing hit songs for several other successful female singers. They include Pink, whom she mentored, and who had a number 1 hit with Perry’s “Get the Party Started”. Others include Christina Aguilera (who had a number 1 hit with Perry’s “Beautiful”), Gwen Stefani (“What You Waiting For?” from her album Love. Angel. Music. Baby.), and Grace Slick (“Knock Me Out”). Perry has also contributed heavily to albums by Courtney Love and Kelly Osbourne as well as signing and distributing James Blunt in the United States.

He is a five-time NBA All-Star, a former All-NBA First Teamer, a former NBA Rookie of the Year, and a former #1 overall NBA Draftee. As a collegiate athlete, he was an NCAA Men’s Basketball first team All-American and led the University of Michigan Wolverines’ 1991 incoming freshman class known as the Fab Five that reached the 1992 and 1993 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship games as freshmen and sophomores. However, Webber was indicted by a federal grand jury and stripped of his All-American honors by the NCAA as a result of his direct involvement in the Ed Martin scandal. He is also a former National High School Basketball Player of the Year who led his high school Detroit Country Day to three Michigan State High School Basketball Championships.

The tournament, organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), was created during 1939 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and was the idea of Ohio State University coach Harold Olsen. Played mostly during March, it is known informally as March Madness or the Big Dance, and has become one of the most famous annual sporting events in the United States. The NCAA has credited Bob Walsh of the Seattle Organizing Committee for starting the March Madness celebration during 1984.
