Polina Edmunds (born May 18, 1998) is an American figure skater. She is the 2014 U.S. national silver medalist and has qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Theodore Sharp “Ted” Ligety (born August 31, 1984) is an Alpine ski racer from the United States. He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist who won the combined event at 2006 Olympics in Turin and the giant slalom race at 2014 Sochi Olympics. Ligety is also a four-time World Cup champion in giant slalom (2008, 2010, 2011, and 2013). Ligety won the gold medal in the giant slalom at the 2011 World Championships. He successfully defended his world title in giant slalom in 2013 in Schladming, Austria, where he also won an unexpected gold medal in the super G and a third gold medal in the super combined. Through October 2013, he has 21 victories (20 in giant slalom and 1 super-combined) and 43 podiums in World Cup competition.

The men’s tournament in ice hockey at the 2014 Winter Olympics will be held in Sochi, Russia from 12â23 February 2014. For the fifth consecutive Olympics, players from the National Hockey League will participate. Twelve countries qualified for the tournament; nine of them did so automatically by virtue of their ranking by the International Ice Hockey Federation, while the three others took part in a qualification tournament. The defending gold medalists are Canada.
Tonya Maxene Harding (born November 12, 1970) is an American figure skating champion, a two-time Olympian, and a two-time Skate America Champion. In 1991, she won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and placed second in the World Championships. She was the second woman, and the first American woman, to complete a triple axel jump in competition. She found herself in the international spotlight after her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, conspired with Shawn Eckhardt and Shane Stant to physically assault her skating competitor Nancy Kerrigan at a practice session during the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit.
The Jamaican national bobsleigh team represents Jamaica in international bobsledding competitions. The team first gained fame during their debut in the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where they were seen as underdogs in as much as they represented a tropical nation in a winter sport. The team returned to the Winter Olympics again in 1992, 1994, 1998, and 2002. The team failed to qualify for the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics. Led by driver Winston Watts, Jamaica qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics in the two-man coming at last place.

With partner Meryl Davis, he is the 2014 Olympic Champion, a two-time (2011, 2013) World champion, the 2010 Olympic silver medalist, two-time (2010, 2012) World silver medalist, five-time Grand Prix Final champion (2009â2013), three-time Four Continents champion (2009, 2011, 2013) and six-time U.S. national champion (2009â2014). At the 2014 Winter Olympics, they won first place in both segments in the team event; Team USA as a whole won bronze. Davis and White, in their individual event, earned first place in both segments and won a gold medal in the free dance.
