2014 illustrationThe 56th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 26, 2014, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The show will broadcast on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/P. The show is moved to January to avoid competing against the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The eligibility period for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards is October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2013. The nominations were announced on December 6, 2013 during a live televised concert on CBS, The Grammy Nominations Concert Live – Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night. Jay-Z received the most nominations with nine. Justin Timberlake, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Pharrell Williams all got seven nominations. Pharrell Williams is nominated twice for both Album of the Year and Record of the Year. Sound engineer Bob Ludwig received the most nomination by a non-performing artist, with five.

Bastille

It played an important role in the internal conflicts of France and for most of its history was used as a state prison by the kings of France. It was stormed by a crowd on 14 July 1789 in the French Revolution, becoming an important symbol for the French Republican movement, and was later demolished and replaced by the Place de la Bastille.

Li NaLi Na (born February 26, 1982) is a Chinese professional tennis player. As of January 2014, Li has won 9 WTA and 19 ITF singles titles. Li rose to prominence after she won the 2011 French Open singles title, making her the first and only Grand Slam singles champion from an Asian country. Prior to this Li had already become the first player representing an Asian country to appear in a Grand Slam singles final, a milestone she achieved at the 2011 Australian Open. Li attained her second Grand Slam title at the 2014 Australian Open. She was also the runner-up at the 2013 Australian Open and 2013 WTA Tour Championships, three times a quarterfinalist at Wimbledon and a semifinalist at the 2013 US Open. Carmelo AnthonyCarmelo Kyam Anthony (born May 29, 1984), nicknamed “Melo”, is an American professional basketball player who plays for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After a successful high school career at Towson Catholic High School and Oak Hill Academy, Anthony attended Syracuse University for college where he led the Orangemen to their first National Championship in 2003. He earned the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player award and was named the Most Valuable Player of NCAA East Regional. After one season at Syracuse University, Anthony left college to enter the 2003 NBA Draft, where he was selected as the third pick by the Nuggets. He was traded to the Knicks several days prior to the 2011 trade deadline.
