Douglas Richard “Doug” McDermott (born January 3, 1992) is an American basketball player who played college basketball for Creighton University. He led the nation in scoring in 2013â14, was a consensus first team All-American in 2012 and 2013, and scored the fifth-most points in NCAA Division I men’s basketball history. He was also named to the team that represented the United States in the 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championship. He is the son of his coach at Creighton, Greg McDermott.
