Miss America 2013

Happy new year 2013 - AmericaMiss America 2013 will be the 92nd Miss America pageant to be held at the PH Live, Las Vegas, Nevada on January 12, 2013. Miss America 2012 winner Laura Kaeppeler from Wisconsin will crown her successor at the end of the event. All 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico will compete for the prestigious title and the pageant will be broadcast live on ABC across the U.S. The pageant will also be simulcast on ESPN Radio for the first time.

The ceremony is scheduled for February 24, 2013, at the Dolby Theatre in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles, California. Seth MacFarlane will host the Academy Awards for the first time. Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said that the show will pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film series.

The awards itself was later initiated by the Academy as an award “of merit for distinctive achievement” in the industry.
