Brian Hoyer (born October 13, 1985) is an American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. He was signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2009 where he played as the backup to Tom Brady until he was released on August 31, 2012. He has also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals. Hoyer played college football at Michigan State.
