Christoph Waltz (German pronunciation: [kristÉf valts]; born 4 October 1956) is an Austrian-German actor. Internationally, he is known for his works with American film-maker Quentin Tarantino in Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained. He received acclaim for his portrayal of SS-Standartenführer Hans Landa in the 2009 film Inglourious Basterds, for which he won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival and the BAFTA, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2010. He also won the BAFTA and the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in 2013, for his portrayal of Dr. King Schultz in Django Unchained .
