Edward Irving “Ed” Koch (pron.: /ËkÉtÊ/; (December 12, 1924 â February 1, 2013) was an American lawyer, politician, political commentator, movie critic and television reality show judge. He served in the United States House of Representatives from 1969 to 1977 and three terms as mayor of New York City, from 1978 to 1989. He also became known as a judge on the television judge show The People’s Court from 1997 to 1999. He died on February 1, 2013 of heart failure.
