Kei Nishikori (é¦ç¹ å, Nishikori Kei?) (born 29 December 1989 in Matsue, Shimane, Japan) is a Japanese tennis player, currently ranked world No. 10 as of 6 September 2014. He is the only Japanese tennis player ever to be ranked inside the top 10 in ATP Singles Ranking. He began playing tennis at the age of five and qualified for his first ATP main draw event at the Countrywide Classic in Los Angeles at the age of 17. Nishikori was named ATP Newcomer of the Year in 2008. He has won five singles titles and has reached the quarter-finals of the 2012 Australian Open and the final of the 2014 US Open, making him the first Japanese and Asian man to reach the final of a Grand Slam singles tournament. Nishikori was also runner-up in the Madrid Masters in 2014.
