Tyrion Lannister (also The Imp or The Halfman) is a fictional character created by American author George R. R. Martin, based on an idea about a never used character in the novel Windhaven. He is a prominent point of view character in Martin’s award-winning A Song of Ice and Fire series and also a main character in HBO’s adaptation of the series, Game of Thrones, where he is portrayed by Peter Dinklage, whose work on the show earned him an Emmy and a Golden Globe award in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
