The opening ceremony of the 2011 Cricket World Cup took place in Bangladesh at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka at 5:30 PM on February 17, 2011, two days prior to the start of the World Cup. The cost of the opening ceremony was estimated to be US$30 million (£18.6m).
